Unlike traditional surgical approaches, UroLift does not require cutting, heating, or removal of prostate tissue. Instead, it uses small permanent implants to gently lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue away from the urethra, restoring normal urine flow.
The procedure is usually performed as a day case, under a short general anaesthetic. Through a small instrument inserted into the urethra, Dr Davies places the UroLift implants in strategic positions to retract the obstructing prostate lobes. This immediately opens the urinary channel.

UroLift is most effective for men with moderate BPH symptoms, a prostate size generally up to 80 grams, and without a large middle lobe obstructing the urethra.
Mild burning on urination, small amounts of blood in the urine, pelvic discomfort, or urgency may occur for a short period. Serious complications are rare.
UroLift offers an effective alternative to lifelong medication or more invasive surgery for many men with BPH. It is quick, preserves sexual function, and allows a faster return to daily life. During your consultation, Dr Davies will help determine if UroLift is the right choice for you.
